No shortcut required, just take derivative and evaluate it at x =-1.5 to find the slope of the tangent line f ' (x) = 24x2 + 6x f ' (-1.5) = 45 = m f (-1.5) = -101/4 = y y = mx + b -101/4 = 45( -1.5) + b b = 169/4 = 42.25 y = 45x + 42.25
