Start by substitutey=erx y'=r erx y''=r2erx then substitute in the diff eq: r2erx - 8r erx +16 erx =0 erx[r2 - 8r + 16] = 0 SO r2 - 8r + 16 = 0 (r-4)(r-4)=0 r=4 repeated So general solution: Y=c1e4x+c2 xe4x Note we put x because it is repeated I hope it help
